2021 Margolese Design Prize Award Ceremony

On Friday, October 22, 2021, the School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture awarded EDL founder, Professor, and Graduate Director Nina-Marie Lister with the 2021 Margolese National Design for Living Prize recognizing her as an inspirational Canadian citizen who engages in design aimed at improving the built environment.
The event comprised of a presentation of Lister’s work, and a panel discussion with distinguished design professionals and scholars:
  • Jill Anholt, Public Artist and Principal, Jill Anholt Studio
  • Julia Czerniak, Associate Dean and Professor of Architecture at Syracuse University
  • Kees Lokman, Associate Professor and Chair of Landscape Architecture at the University of British Columbia
  • Moderated by:¬†Mary Rowe, President and CEO at The Canadian Urban Institute
Speaking across the disciplines and amplifying the deep design work of architects, landscape architects, artists, planners, and ecologists, this group shed light on the importance of transdisciplinary work and compassionate co-creation in a time of incredible urgency.
